Nutsimilian

Nutsimilian is a turn-based 2D tile sandbox/simulation game with an emphasis on exploration, experimentation, and creative thinking within a procedurally generated world.

The game world is divided into "pages" that the player travels between by navigating to each edge. The world is constructed of "tiles," which represent various materials and concepts laid out in a grid. The world does not update in real-time; the world only moves when the player moves. Tiles can be moved around with the mouse cursor with complete freedom.

The worlds in Nustimilian are random and chaotic, featuring a jumbled world constructed of haphazardly assorted tiles. It is up to the player to either organize the chaos piece by piece, or to fully succumb to the clutches of entropy.

There is no UI in Nutsimilian beyond the title screen. Once in game, the player is left to their own devices to physically navigate and manage their resources.

The world is infinite. Yet, many resources are limited. In most cases, the law of equivilent exchange demands that matter neither be created or destroyed. To obtain a new resource, the player must either find it in the world, refine it with tools, or create a reaction between compatible tiles. Likewise, to dispose of a resource, the player must either use it to create something else, or move it somewhere far away as discarded trash. Manage your trash disposal wisely, lest the world become a landfill.
